PLEASE BRING PETITIONS AND LETTERS TO YOUR LOCAL TEA PARTY!

I got this idea from Cynthia Yockey.

I found Cynthia’s site though Ann Coulter, who listed “Cynthia Yockey’s Campaign to get David Letterman Fired” among the “Quotations From Chairman Ann.”.

Cynthia recommends bringing petitions and letters urging CBS to fire David Letterman for his attacks on Sarah Palin and her daughters to the tea parties. Cynthia also has a sample petition in the comments section of her post on the subject, which is linked above.

We conservatives are almost by definition not rabble-rousers. Or, at least, it’s been a long time. Here are a couple of excellent posts on the subject by Sebastian Grey at Hillbuzz entitled “We Hope Republicans See the Alinsky-Al Sharpton Methods Work” and “The REAL Difference Between Democrats and Republicans: Democrats Know How to Work the System.”

I attended the Letterman protest outside his studio in NYC. I was speaking with a man in the crowd- a Democrat- who was appalled by Letterman’s comments about Sarah and her daughters and wanted to do something about it. We spoke, we agreed Letterman’s remarks were not acceptable, and we agreed that he should be fired. Then the man said to me, “So, do you have a petition for me to sign or what?”

I didn’t.

All foreplay, no consummation.

Let’s not make that mistake again. I will be attending a July 4th tea party. I will be bringing a petition protesting Kellogg’s sponsorship of David Letterman’s show and a petition demanding that Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer vote against Cap and Trade. I don’t care if that’s an impossible dream: letting them know we are against Cap and Trade matters.

UPDATE: And flyers. Maybe flyers with senators’ contact info.

    Rosita,

    That’s great!

Also, thank you for all your comments over at my place!

I was going to put my latest “Fire Letterman” post up tomorrow after calling to verify some addresses, but I think I’ll go ahead and post it tonight and then update it tomorrow.

    Cynthia
