There are bad things afoot between Obama and Mugabe.
On June 26, 2009, the New York Times, in an article about Robert Mugabe “violently” taking over diamond fields in Zimbabwe:
President Obama and European heads of state have generally declined to aid Zimbabwe’s government directly, in part because of concerns that it continues to flout the rule of law.
New York Times, June 12, 2009:
Mr. Obama said that he had committed $73 million in assistance to Zimbabwe, but that the money “will not be going to the government directly because we continue to be concerned about consolidating democracy, human rights and rule of law.”
So where is the $73 million going, if it’s not going to “Zimbabwe’s government directly”? Note the use of couching, oblique language in the first article above from the Times, “generally declined to aid Zimbabwe’s government directly.” You don’t need to be a weatherman, as the President’s friends used to say, to know which way the wind is blowing. This money is going to Robert Mugabe.
The blood of the innocent cries out.
It curses Obama for taking the American people’s money and giving it to Robert Mugabe, evil African chief, killer of white farmers, torturer of journalists.
Also, aside from the moral implications, what’s Obama’s angle in giving Mugabe money? Those diamond mines?
